Two-Dimensional Chromium Bismuthate: A Room-Temperature Ising Ferromagnet with Tunable Magneto-Optical Response

We present a density functional theory (DFT) based study of two-dimensional phase chromium bismuthate (CrBi), previously unknown material with exceptional magnetic and magnetooptical characteristics. Monolayer CrBi is ferromagnetic metal strong spin-orbit coupling induced by the heavy bismuth atoms, resulting in strongly anisotropic Ising-type ordering Curie temperature estimated to be higher than 300 K. The electronic structure system topologically nontrivial, giving rise nonzero Berry curvature ground state, leading anomalous Hall effect conductivity plateau $\sim$1.5 $e^2/h$ at Fermi level. Remarkably, constant are found dependent on direction magnetization. Besides, monolayer demonstrates polar Kerr visible near-ultraviolet spectral ranges maximum rotation angles up 10 mrad. Our findinds suggest that promising for practical applications spintronic devices.
